BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today chaired a meeting at the Mini Secretariat to review preparations for the 3rd Edition of the “BSF Wular Ultra Run 2026”, scheduled to be held on October 4, 2026, under the theme “Save Wular, Run With Bordermen.”
The event is being organised by BSF under the aegis of Frontier HQ BSF Kashmir, with the objective of promoting fitness, community engagement and tourism in the Kashmir Valley.
The run will feature four categories of 50 km, 25 km, 10.5 km and 5 km, with designated start and finish points and routes covering various stretches around Bandipora and Wular Vantage Park.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on route management, security, traffic regulation, medical preparedness, hydration, sanitation, accommodation, fire and emergency preparedness, cultural programmes, cleanliness, beautification and publicity arrangements.
The DC directed all concerned departments to ensure close coordination with BSF and other stakeholders for timely completion of all arrangements. She directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to convene a meeting with concerned medical staff, sensitise them regarding their roles and ensure adequate preparedness of hospitals and emergency medical services.
The DC stressed the need for adequate medical points, hydration points and portable toilets along the routes.
The concerned agencies were directed to ensure effective Fire and Emergency preparedness, including availability of necessary equipment and personnel at critical locations.
The DC directed the District Information Officer (DIO) to ensure extensive publicity and dissemination of the event, including publication of the traffic advisory through Print and Electronic Media and other appropriate platforms, besides creating awareness among the public regarding traffic diversions and event-related arrangements.
Emphasis was also laid on proper accommodation and transportation facilities for participants, cleanliness and sanitation along the routes and venue, beautification of the venue, and organising cultural programmes to enhance the overall experience of participants and visitors.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon all stakeholders to maintain close coordination and ensure that all arrangements are put in place well in advance for the safe, smooth and successful conduct of the 3rd Edition of the BSF Wular Ultra Run 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of BSF, Police, CRPF, Army, Civil Administration and other concerned departments.
