BUDGAM, APRIL 23: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress on forest boundary demarcation, installation of boundary pillars, and measures related to removal of encroachments in the district.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Budgam, Wildlife Warden Hokersar, Divisional Forest Officer Budgam, Tehsildars of Khansahib, Khag and Charar-i-Sharief, and the Range Officer Demarcation, among other concerned officials.
During the meeting, a detailed review of ongoing demarcation works was carried out, with emphasis on ensuring clarity and accuracy in delineation of forest boundaries. The progress on installation of boundary pillars at identified locations was also discussed to facilitate better identification and protection of forest land.
Inter-departmental coordination issues were deliberated upon, with directions for closer collaboration among Revenue, Forest, and Wildlife departments to ensure smooth implementation of the process on the ground.
The meeting also reviewed aspects related to wetland boundary mapping, with focus on maintaining updated and accurate records to support planning and conservation efforts.
The DC laid emphasis on the need for a systematic and coordinated approach in carrying forward the demarcation process, ensuring adherence to established procedures and timely progress.
The DC further directed the concerned departments to continue working in coordination and maintain momentum in the ongoing initiatives.
