DODA, JANUARY 20: Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh, in collaboration with the Sanatan Dharma Sabha, flagged off the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Yatra 2025 here today from Ganpat Bridge. The event witnessed the active participation of Sabha members and local devotees across the district, who came together to mark the spiritual journey with enthusiasm and devotion. The ceremonially adorned vehicles carrying pilgrims symbolized unity and faith.

The Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Yatra holds immense spiritual significance, leading devotees to one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. The Kumbh festival, celebrated every 12 years, is a confluence of spirituality, tradition, and faith. This year, millions of devotees will converge at Prayagraj to take the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam—the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers—to cleanse themselves of sins and attain spiritual liberation.

The DC praised the Sanatan Dharma Sabha for organizing the yatra and said it aligns with the sentiments and beliefs of the people. He extended his blessings to the pilgrims, wishing them a safe and fulfilling spiritual journey. He also acknowledged the ongoing efforts in the district to facilitate such significant events, which help preserve and promote cultural and religious heritage.

The Kumbh festival is renowned for its spiritual discourses, rituals, and mass participation, symbolizing faith and unity across diverse communities. This yatra from Doda is a testament to the unwavering devotion of the region’s people, reaffirming the importance of cultural traditions and their role in bringing communities together.
