BHADERWAH, DECEMBER 16: The Office of the Deputy Registrar, INDUSCOS, Jammu, successfully organized the Chandrabhaga-INDUSCOS event at Lake View Resort, Gatha Bhaderwah. The event brought together cooperatives from the Handicrafts and Handloom departments of Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar Districts to showcase their unique products. The initiative aimed to provide a robust marketing platform to local weavers and artisans while raising awareness about various departmental schemes and employment opportunities related to these crafts.

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, along with Joint Director, Kul Raj Singh, and Deputy Registrar INDUSCOS, Shazia Rehman. Their presence added significance to the occasion as they interacted with artisans, encouraged the participating cooperatives, and emphasized the importance of preserving traditional craftsmanship. A live craft station, which demonstrated the intricate processes of handloom and handicraft production, garnered significant public attention.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Harvinder Singh appreciated the concerned department for organizing the event to promote local artisans. He highlighted the importance of initiatives like these in boosting local traditions, cultural ethics, and the morale of artisans. He further emphasized the need to preserve and promote traditional skills for the region’s socio-economic growth.

Deputy Registrar Shazia Rehman, while presenting the vote of thanks, acknowledged the efforts of Joint Director Kul Raj Singh in making the event a success. She also expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants for their support.

To make the event vibrant and engaging, the exhibition remained open to the public, attracting visitors from all walks of life. The Chandrabhaga-INDUSCOS event not only uplifted artisan morale but also created opportunities for local craftsmen to connect with broader markets.

This collaborative effort demonstrated the department’s commitment to empowering artisans, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening the handicrafts and handloom industries in Jammu and Kashmir.
