DC Kathua reviews saturation of HADP, JKCIP projects across agriculture, allied sectors

KATHUA, NOVEMBER 22: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma today convened a meeting with officers of stakeholder departments to review the implementation of development projects across Agriculture and allied sectors under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, Kisan Khushal Guarantee and J&K Community Irrigation Project.

The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed assessment of the initiatives being implemented under these programmes. Progress achieved under Kisan Sathi, DAKSH Kisan, HADP Credit, development of seed and seed multiplication chains, promotion of niche crops, vegetables and exotic vegetables, apiculture, mushroom production, integrated farming systems, commercial floriculture, rainfed area development and soil and land resources information systems was thoroughly reviewed.

The Deputy Commissioner also assessed the status of interventions aimed at achieving self-sustenance in mutton production and technological upgradation in fish and trout production.

While reviewing the department-wise progress, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to put in extra efforts and ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects. He emphasised the need for coordinated action by the stakeholder departments to achieve better outcomes for benefiting the farming community.
CPO Kathua, Ranjit Thakur and officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry, Sheep husbandry, Fisheries and other line departments attended the meeting.
