KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 04: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, (Chairman DLC) today chaired a meeting to review the progress and ensure the speedy disposal of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases in the district.
During the meeting, it was informed that a total of 12 NDPS cases have been registered in the district till date, out of which 09 cases have been challaned, while 03 cases are under investigation.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for time-bound disposal of cases and timely filing of challans.
He further directed the concerned officers to ensure close coordination among departments and enforcement agencies for effective action against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
The DC reiterated the commitment of the district administration to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards drug menace and to safeguard the youth from this social evil.
The meeting was attended by SSP Naresh Singh; DSWO Zubair Ahmed; Dy. SP CID(SB), Dy. Director Prosecution and other concerned officials.
