KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today visited the Naigad Gravity Water Supply Scheme to review the ongoing restoration work of rain affected pipeline undertaken to reinstate water supply to the town and adjoining areas.

During the inspection, the DC reviewed two major damaged spots at Bajri Point Wagam Nallah and another site at Wagam Nallah, where water supply lines were severely affected.

The first damaged site was rectified earlier, while restoration work at Bajri Point Wagam Nallah is currently underway.

The existing track, damaged due to sinking, has been realigned to facilitate interconnection with the gravity line and make the system functional at the earliest.

The DC held detailed discussions with the Executive Engineer, AEE, AE and field staff of the Jal Shakti Department regarding the challenges faced in the restoration process. He directed the department to accelerate the pace of work to ensure early resumption of supply to the residents of the town, who have been facing water shortage due to the damages. He also assured full support and timely arrangements from the District Administration to facilitate smooth completion of the project.

The DC was accompanied by ExEn Jal Shakti Kishtwar, Er. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, AEE Jal Shakti Kishtwar Rahul Kotwal and other concerned officials.
