KULGAM, JUNE 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the NH-444 Kulgam Bypass, with special emphasis on the early opening of the Brazloo Bridge.

The meeting was attended by the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA), Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Executive Engineer, Project Division-I Srinagar, Tehsildars of Pahloo and Kulgam, besides other officials of the Revenue and indenting departments.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to expedite the opening of the Brazloo Bridge to alleviate public inconvenience. He observed that with the onset of the fruit season, the bridge would play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth transportation of horticultural produce to the Fruit Mandi, Kulgam.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned agencies to remove existing bottlenecks on priority and adopt a comprehensive strategy to ensure macadamization of the entire stretch from Pahloo to Hanand. He emphasized close coordination among all stakeholders for the timely completion of the project and instructed officers to resolve all pending issues expeditiously in the larger public interest.

He further underscored the importance of completing the works in a time-bound manner so that the benefits of improved connectivity are made available to the public and the horticulture sector without any further delay.
