KUPWARA, AUGUST 1 Deputy Commissioner,(DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today administered Swachhta pledge to the District Officers, Sectoral officers and other stakeholders at meeting Hall of DC office complex, as part of 15-day long Swachhta Pakhwada.
The Deputy Commissioner also led a Swachhta Sangram Rally which commenced from DC office complex Kupwara and culminated at Main market Kupwara.
ADDC Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, ACD, ACP, CEO, other District officers, President traders federation Kupwara, scores of officials of MC and other stakeholders participated in the rally and took part in the cleanliness drive while raising the awareness about cleanliness of surroundings.
The Deputy Commissioner while felicitating the contribution of citizens, youth volunteers, Safai-Mitras, Sanitation workers and other stakeholders, stressed to focus on public awareness regarding waste management, segregation and its environmental impact.
Highlighting the significance of Swachhata Pakhwada, the DC directed for conducting cleanliness drives at tourist spots, water bodies, riverbanks and other important places.
She also called for an active participation of local communities to come forward and contribute to the cleanliness of the surroundings of the district.
Meanwhile, Swachhta pledge were administered in district offices, Tehsil headquarters, BHQs, Colleges, Schools, Panchayats, Anganwadi centres and Health institutions across the district.
Swachhta Sangram Rallies were held from ADC Office Handwara to main market Handwara, SDM office Sogam to GDC sogam, SDM office Tangdar to Dak Bunglow Tangdar,Tehsil Office Keran to Cobra post Keran, where awareness was generated among the citizens and cleanliness drives were also held.
