DC Kupwara chairs review meeting on TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

KUPWARA, JULY 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, today chaired a review meeting to assess district preparedness for the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (July-December 2025).

District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the district action plan and the screening target of 1,03,059 individuals from the vulnerable population.

DC directed intensified active case finding and timely treatment initiation using available diagnostic tools, promoting early treatment initiation under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP).

She directed Block Medical Officers (BMOs) to mobilize healthcare workers, sensitize medical staff, and strengthen community engagement. She also stressed the deployment of mobile medical units in border and hard-to-reach areas, including Machil, Keran, Jumgund, and Budnambal.

DC called for weekly progress reporting to monitor outreach and testing efforts, directing officials to submit weekly progress reports.

The meeting was attended by CMO Kupwara, Dr. Masarat Iqbal Wani; MS SDH Kupwara, BMOs, and members of the program management unit.
