KUPWARA, APRIL 23: District Youth Services & Sports Kupwara, in collaboration with the District Administration Kupwara, today organized an awareness event under the ongoing Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan at Drugmulla Tehsil headquarter.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from various sections of society, reflecting a collective commitment towards building a drug-free community.
The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, and was attended by the ASP Kupwara, along with senior officials from various departments, senior citizens, and a large gathering of school children.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the urgent need to tackle drug abuse through sustained awareness, community participation, and strong institutional support.
He highlighted that initiatives like the Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan are crucial in educating the youth about the harmful effects of drugs and encouraging them to make responsible life choices.
A key highlight of the programme was the administration of the Nasha Mukt Pledge. Participants solemnly pledged to abstain from drugs and to actively contribute towards spreading awareness in their communities.
Later, a rally was taken out in which large number of students, officials and citizens took part. The participants were holding placards mentioning the ill effects of the drug abuse and need to uproot it for a prosperous future of the youth.
Meanwhile Nasha Mukt activities are going on across various Tehsils, Schools, Colleges and Government Offices in the district.
