DODA, MAY 28: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh on Wednesday chaired a Public outreach camp at Village Trown in Block Bhalla to address the issues faced by local residents.

A large number of locals, PRI representatives, and officers from the line departments attended the event, which also featured the IEC campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. People raised several important demands, seeking up-gradation, blacktopping of roads, augmentation of drinking water, improvement of Power supply scenario and improved sanitation in the area. The locals demanded replacement of damaged electric poles under the RDSS scheme, timely payment of MGNREGA wages and establishment of a bank branch in the area.

Other demands projected by locals included streamlining of revenue department services, timely compensation for crop damage, the appointment of the principal in local school, renovation of infrastructure and the deployment of teachers at the Higher Secondary and Middle Schools. The DC assured that all genuine concerns would be addressed promptly and directed concerned officers to take immediate action.

Later, the DC inspected several government institutions including the Higher Secondary School, Primary School, , Health Centre, and the Sheep Husbandry and Extension Centre in the area. He assessed staff availability, infrastructure condition, provision of library and sanitation facilities in the schools. He interacted with teachers and students, assuring timely redressal of academic and infrastructure issues.

At the Health Centre, he checked medicine availability, staff attendance, and cleanliness, and instructed for 24×7 emergency services. He also reviewed the livestock services at the Sheep Extension Centre and emphasized promoting self-employment schemes through livestock rearing.

The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness and proper display of information on public welfare schemes at all government offices. He also instructed for timely registration of job card holders for MGNREGA benefits and clarified that only GST-registered vendors would be eligible for material supply, with payments made after due verification.

The CEO was directed to resolve pending issues of the Higher Secondary School in Bhalla , while the BDO was directed to install a water cooler in school premises.

The CMO was asked to ensure smooth healthcare services, while the Chief Agriculture Officer was asked to promote schemes under HADP for agricultural development. The departments had put up stalls to create awareness among the public about government schemes. The event witnessed enthusiastic public participation and a collaborative effort from all departments to improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
