DC Poonch chairs meeting on revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll

POONCH, DECEMBER 12: The Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, who is also District Election Officer (DEO) today chaired a meeting to discuss the Revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll 2025.

The meeting discussed various measures regarding the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2025. During the meeting, DC Poonch provided an outline of the various processes and activities for the electoral roll campaign.
He emphasized on the significance of conducting a thorough and transparent screening for the electoral roll campaign.

The meeting discussed in detail, revised schedule including publication of Draft Panchayat Electoral Roll, Period of filing claims and objections, publication of final Panchayat Electoral Roll and other related activities.

Emphasizing the importance of accessibility, the DC directed the AEROs (All BDOs of District) to organize special camps at Colleges, Banks, Higher secondary schools, and various locations as per the State Election Commission’s guidelines and notified schedule to facilitate easy access for the public and ensure the accuracy of the electoral roll.

He asked Sub-divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to closely monitor activities related to the electoral roll revision.
The meeting was attended by ACR, ACP, SDM Sumbal, SDM Mendhar and Surankote, all BDOs, Naib Tehsildar Elections and other concerned officials.
