DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Gurupurab celebrations

POONCH, NOVEMBER 04: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for Gurpurab (Prakash Diwas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji) being observed on 15 November, 2024.

The meeting was attended by SSP, ADC, ACR, CMO, XEN JPDCL, Tehsildar, ARTO, AD FCS&CA DIO, BDO, Incharge Fire and Emergency, members of civil society, prominent citizens and religious heads.

In the meeting, religious heads and prominent citizens raised various issues related to the arrangement of Gurpurab. They requested the administration to ensure drinking water, power supply, sanitation, security arrangement, Medical facilities etc during the celebration.

The DC directed the Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti and Power Development Departments to ensure uninterrupted Water and power supply to all Gurudwaras on the Parkash Diwas.

The DC also directed the Municipal authorities to maintain cleanliness in and around the main Gurdwaras. He further directed them to carry out the necessary repairs of the street lights.

The meeting was informed that comprehensive security and traffic plans have been formulated for hassle-free movement and smooth celebrations of Guru Purab.

The DC further directed the Chief Medical Officer to provide Medicare facility and Ambulance at the venue.
