DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Independence Day celebration

POONCH, JULY 17: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal today chaired a comprehensive meeting here at Dak Bungalow to review the preparations for the Independence Day Celebrations 2025. The meeting was attended by the district-level officers and stakeholders to ensure meticulous planning and timely execution of all arrangements.

SSP Shafkat Hussain; ADDC Pankaj Magotra; ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik; ACR Mohammad Sayeed and other district and sectoral officers were present at the meeting.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the tasks assigned to different departments and the progress of preparations.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed each aspect of the event, including security arrangements, venue decoration, public address system, cultural programmes, media coverage, Shanai Vadan, parade readiness, fire safety, seating plans, refreshments, illumination of government buildings, plantation drive, vehicle parking, barricading, uninterrupted water and power supply.

The Deputy Commissioner asked all departments to complete respective arrangements well in time to ensure a grand and seamless celebration of the national event.

The grand Independence Day function is set to take place at the Sports Stadium Poonch, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take the salute at the march-past. The schedule leading up to the main event includes a Full-dress rehearsal on August 13, 2025, screening of cultural items at Sheesh Mahal on August 12, and daily parade rehearsals commencing from August 1, 2025.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in full coordination to ensure a grand, dignified, and inclusive Independence Day celebration 2025.
