BARAMULLA, MARCH 26: The District Administration Baramulla today organized a successful Voters Awareness program under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative at Fruit Mundi, Sopore.

The event aimed to raise awareness about various voting-related activities and promote electoral literacy among citizens, especially first-time voters, in anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The event, graced by the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including Deputy Nodal Officer SVEEP Iftikhar Bashir, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), principals, teachers, students from different schools, and officials from various departments.

Participants were treated to engaging skits and interactive sessions designed to educate and inspire active participation in the democratic process.

Speaking at the event, ADC emphasized the significance of electoral literacy in empowering citizens and urged everyone, especially first-time voters, to exercise their franchise responsibly in the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, he underscored the vital role of every eligible voter in shaping the future of the nation, and encouraged attendees to elect representatives who can understand and address their aspirations effectively.

Booth Level Officers played a crucial role in educating participants about the electoral process, stressing the importance of their right to vote and their role as active participants in the democratic system.

As a token of appreciation for the active participation of local youth and students, certificates of participation were distributed by ADC and other officers present at the event.
