DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Republic Day 2025 celebration

POONCH, JANUARY 14: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal, convened a review meeting today to discuss the preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Dak Bungalow.

It was decided that the main function would be held at the Sports Stadium where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take the salute at the March past. The celebrations will commence with the Shehnai Vadan at designated locations, arranged by the Information Department in the early hours of the day.

The Deputy Commissioner meticulously reviewed all aspects of the upcoming event, including flag unfurling, cultural programs, security arrangements, venue decoration, Public Address System, seating arrangements, first aid and fire safety, Parade preparations, illumination of government buildings and SK Bridge, Media coverage and distribution of prizes

The Deputy Commissioner asked to launch a cleanliness drive around the venue and other important places. Stress was laid on uninterrupted power and water supply on the day of the event.

The Information Department was tasked with providing a flawless public address system and extensive media coverage, beginning with Shehnai Vadan. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner directed executive engineers to arrange barricading, seating, and drinking water supply, and to ensure uninterrupted power during the celebrations. Provisions for ambulance services, security personnel, and adequate manpower were also thoroughly discussed. The DFO has been tasked with organizing a plantation drive on the eve of the celebration.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all concerned departments to finalize arrangements promptly to ensure a smooth and successful celebration of this significant national event.

The meeting was attended by SSP, Poonch, ADC, GM DIC, ACR, Principal GDC Poonch, CPO, ACP, DFO, DSWO, Dysp,DAR, AD Food, Deputy Director Employment, Xen PHE / PWD / I&FC / JPDCL, Cultural Officer, officers from Army, Commentator, Paramilitary forces and other concerned officers.
