DC Poonch reviews preparations for Census 2027

POONCH, MAY 05: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma, who is also the District Principal Census Officer for Census 2027, today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for the smooth conduct of Census 2027 in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner Development; Shakeel Ahmed; District Statistics and Evaluation Officer (DSEO) Javed Ahmed; District Informatics Officer Parvinder Singh; Tehsildar Azhar Majid; Chief Education Officer Mohammad Hafeez; AD statistical and other concerned officers and officials.

The meeting was informed that the Self-Enumeration phase shall be conducted from May 17 to May 31, 2026. The citizens can complete their online on the official portal (https://se.census.gov.in⁠).

The DC asked officials to encourage residents to actively participate and ensure timely submission of their details through the self-enumeration facility.

To ensure maximum outreach, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Education Department to educate students about the importance of census at morning assemblies and encourage them to motivate their families to complete the self-enumeration process within the stipulated timeframe.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner instructed Tehsildars and concerned officials to ensure that all preparatory activities are completed well in time, facilitating a seamless and efficient census process.

It was also informed that the House Listing and Housing Census (Phase-I) shall be conducted from June 1 to June 30, 2026.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized on close coordination among all departments to ensure the successful conduct of house listing & Housing (HLO) Census 2027 Phase-I in the district.
