PULWAMA, JANUARY 16: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today chaired a meeting here to review the preparations for Republic Day 2025 celebrations in Pulwama.

The meeting brought together senior officials from various government departments and security agencies, reflecting a collective focus on ensuring a grand and flawless event. Dr. Qayoom stressed the importance of completing arrangements on time while strictly adhering to security protocols to ensure a safe and memorable celebration.

He directed all departments to work in close coordination for the seamless execution of planned events. Special focus was laid on venue preparation, proper seating arrangements, sound systems and the illumination of government buildings to enhance the celebratory atmosphere.

In view of the cold weather, Dr. Qayoom instructed the Health Department to ensure adequate medical facilities, including first aid and ambulance services at the venue. He also highlighted the importance of arranging heating facilities for the comfort of participants and attendees.

The DC emphasized the need for culturally vibrant celebrations, asking officials to curate engaging cultural programs and organize a well-coordinated parade. He reminded everyone of the importance of adhering to the Flag Code for the respectful handling of the National Flag.

Officers were also directed towards organizing Republic Day celebrations at block and tehsil levels to make the event inclusive and widespread. Committees of officers have been formed and tasked with ensuring smooth coordination and timely preparations across the district.

Dr. Qayoom underlined the importance of teamwork and called on officials to submit detailed action plans and regular progress updates. He reiterated the need to consider all logistical aspects, including heating arrangements, to address weather-related challenges.

The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to make Republic Day 2025 a grand and memorable event, showcasing the unity and diversity of the nation.
