RAJOURI, JULY 04: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a review meeting on implementation of the PM TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and directed officers concerned to intensify efforts to eliminate tuberculosis through a coordinated approach.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the district’s progress on TB case detection, treatment outcomes, contact tracing, TB Preventive Treatment (TPT), Nikshay Poshan Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Nikshay Mitra registration and data management under the programme. He said tuberculosis elimination is a shared responsibility and asked officers to ensure every eligible patient receives timely diagnosis, uninterrupted treatment and continuous follow-up and that preventive interventions be strengthened to break the chain of transmission and reduce the disease burden in the district.
On the Nikshay Mitra initiative, the Deputy Commissioner said the programme has a significant role in extending nutritional and social support to TB patients, and directed the Health Department to expedite registration of Nikshay Mitras and mobilise resources to enhance community participation.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to ensure timely and accurate updation of data on the Nikshay portal and called for strengthening surveillance, improving contact tracing and intensifying awareness campaigns to encourage early reporting, diagnosis and treatment of TB cases.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Ravi Kumar Sihag, DTO Dr Shahzad Mirza and Block Medical Officers.
