JAMMU, JULY 4: As per directions of the Director, Social Welfare Department (SWD) Jammu, an inspection of the Senior Citizen Day Care Centre and the Home for the Visually Impaired, Jammu was carried out today.
The inspection team comprised Deputy Director Raman Kumar, Assistant Director (Schemes), Assistant Director (Administration), Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (Schemes) and Accountant.
The team reviewed the functioning of both institutions, focussing on the quality of care and services provided to beneficiaries. Areas inspected included infrastructure, accommodation, cleanliness, kitchen and dining arrangements, medical care, record maintenance, financial records and implementation of welfare schemes. The team also interacted with inmates and staff to assess their well-being, identify challenges and gather feedback, with emphasis on hygiene standards, transparency in record keeping, timely utilisation of grants and the welfare, safety and dignity of residents.
Observations and recommendations were conveyed to the management for improvement and compliance with departmental guidelines.
