DC Ramban convenes introductory meeting with Civil Society Members

RAMBAN, JUNE 23: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired an introductory meeting with members of Civil Society to promote public engagement in governance and developmental activities.

The meeting was attended by members of Bar Association, prominent Citizens, besides heads of social, religious and business organizations.

 Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather and other officers of the District Administration were also present.

During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the District Administration’s commitment to strengthening a public-centric governance system in the district, emphasizing that efforts are being made to reach out to people at their doorsteps to ensure quality and efficient services delivery.

He appealed to the participants to actively participate in the planning and execution of developmental works, emphasizing that public involvement is crucial for achieving holistic and sustainable development in the district. He assured that visible progress would be ensured on the ground through participatory governance and a focused developmental mission.

Responding to issues of public importance raised by the participants, the Deputy Commissioner and ADC briefed them about the steps being taken to resolve the same. They said that district administration is always available for the public and they are free to come up with matters of public-interest.

Seeking community support for the smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Deputy Commissioner underlined the district’s role in facilitating and welcoming Yatris passing through the district. He called upon the civil society to join the District Administration to welcome the Yatris.

The participants appreciated the initiative and assured full cooperation to the District Administration in implementing welfare schemes and ensuring greater community participation in development and governance processes.
