RAMBAN, OCTOBER 07: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with SSP Traffic NHW, Raja Adil Hamid and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak today inspected and monitored the ongoing restoration works on National Highway-44 (NH-44) near Nashri, where an overnight mudslide had disrupted traffic movement on the up-tube towards Srinagar.

The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the situation and directed the engineers of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the clearance operations and ensure early restoration of vehicular movement. He emphasized deploying adequate men and machinery to clear accumulated debris and mud from the affected stretch in the shortest possible time to minimize inconvenience to commuters.

The SSP Traffic NHW briefed the Deputy Commissioner on traffic regulation measures implemented to ensure smooth movement of vehicles from both sides and to prevent congestion. The ADC Ramban coordinated with local administration, police and NHAI officials to monitor the situation on real-time basis.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned agencies to remain in a state of readiness and respond promptly to any further eventualities, given the prevailing weather conditions. He stressed maintaining close coordination among district administration, NHAI and traffic authorities to ensure public safety and uninterrupted movement along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway.
