RAMBAN, MAY 15: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to take comprehensive review of the implementation of the flagship social security schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PMKMY) and National Pension System for Traders (NPS-Traders) in the district.

The meeting was attended by the General Manager DIC, Assistant Director Employment, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Chief Education Officer, DPM JKNRLM, District Manager CSC, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees Batote, Banihal and Ramban and Assistant Commissioner Development. Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), Block Development Officers (BDOs) and DPMs of JKNRLM joined the meeting through virtual mode.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the enrollment status, outreach initiatives and operational challenges in achieving saturation under these schemes. Stressing the importance of universal social security coverage, he directed the stakeholder departments to ensure 100 percent coverage of all eligible beneficiaries, particularly those engaged in the unorganized and informal sectors.

The Deputy Commissioner issued specific directions to various departments. He directed the Chief Education Officer to ensure coverage of all Mid-Day Meal workers, the Labour Department to register all eligible construction workers and the Municipal Authorities to cover traders and shopkeepers within municipal limits. The Block Development Officers were asked to ensure inclusion of rural shopkeepers and eligible MGNREGA job card holders, while the Agriculture and allied departments were directed to cover all eligible farmers. He also instructed JKNRLM functionaries to ensure registration of all eligible Self Help Group members.

Highlighting the pivotal role of Common Service Centres (CSCs), the DC directed them to intensify door-to-door outreach, facilitate on-the-spot registrations and ensure accurate data entry. He further instructed the Assistant Director Employment to submit weekly progress reports for close monitoring of the implementation process.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized timely verification of applications, prompt grievance redressal and coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to achieve complete saturation under these schemes, ensuring financial security for every eligible citizen of the district.
