RAMBAN, JUNE 30: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today visited the Lamber Yatra Camp and other designated yatra sites to assess departmental preparedness for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner held a review meeting with all concerned departments on arrangements for pilgrims, including langar facilities, accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, power, healthcare, security and traffic management and stressed close inter-departmental coordination for managing the pilgrimage.
He directed all departments to maintain round-the-clock readiness and keep every facility fully functional throughout the yatra, with prompt response mechanisms, effective sanitation, adequate medical preparedness, uninterrupted utility services, efficient traffic management and robust security arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Executive Engineer JPDCL to ensure tri-colour illumination at designated yatra locations and the Yatra helpdesk to remain functional round the clock to assist pilgrims. He directed the Food Inspector to inspect the quality and hygiene of food served at langars throughout the yatra and instructed the SDM to closely supervise arrangements to ensure effective service delivery.
The Deputy Commissioner said the administration, in coordination with the police, line departments and stakeholder agencies is prepared to facilitate the pilgrimage. Accompanying officers briefed him on their departments’ preparedness and confirmed that arrangements have been made in accordance with the Yatra Management Plan.
The meeting was also attended by SSP Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Banihal Mohammed Naseeb Bajraan, SDM Ramsoo Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, ACD Sheraz Ahmed and other senior officers.
