DC Reasi chairs district-level orientation programme on Adi Karamyogi Abhiyan

REASI, AUGUST 29: District Administration Reasi today organized a district-level orientation programme under the Adi Karamyogi Abhiyan: Responsive Governance Programme, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik.
Aligning with the state-level orientation, the district-level programme was conducted to initiate groundwork at the local level. Reasi district, with its 44 selected tribal villages, is one of the 4 districts selected from J&K for Phase-I of the Abhiyan.

The workshop focused on preparing a comprehensive roadmap for the holistic development of the 44 identified villages across nine blocks of the district. Emphasis was laid on community participation, responsive governance, and effective resource mobilization.

During the orientation, a detailed presentation on the Abhiyan was delivered, serving as the formal introduction for district-level representatives. The session also set the stage for the upcoming three-day District Process Lab, to be followed by block-level orientations and village-level community-based exercises.

The framework of the Abhiyan was discussed in depth, including the formation of District and Block Responsive Governance Groups (DRGG & BRGG) for regular review and monitoring.

The DRGG, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, will function with support from district heads of line departments such as Tribal Affairs, Jal Jeevan Mission, Health, Education, Forest, and Rural Development.

It was further shared that Adi Sewa Kendras will be identified and designated at the village level as single points of contact. Additionally, the programme will involve the identification and orientation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Adi Sahyogis and Adi Saathis, along with the preparation of Model Village Action Plans.

Addressing the participants, the DC stressed that BDOs, line departments and panchayat-level employees must actively participate rather than treating the exercise as a mere formality. She urged them to gain clarity from district-level master trainers during the three-day lab to ensure effective implementation.

The Deputy Commissioner directed BDOs to ensure that works are carried out in line with the ground-truthing exercise conducted to identify and address deficiencies. She further highlighted that the Vision Plan would be implemented in close coordination with local communities to ensure their active role in planning and execution.

The DC emphasized the need for synergy among all stakeholders so that tribal villages can be developed as model villages. She reiterated the administration’s commitment to the welfare and progress of tribal communities.

Among others present were CPO Narinder Kumar, PO ICDS Sudershan Kumar, ACD Vijay Kumar, CMO, DFO, DIO, CEO and other district officers.
