SAMBA, OCTOBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Samba Dr. Rupesh Kumar today convened a Block Diwas meeting at Community Hall, Chani Fatwal in Block Ramgarh to review development issues and address public grievances.

A large number of locals, public representatives and officers from line departments participated in the programme. During the interaction, residents raised several issues and demands pertaining to road connectivity, drinking water supply, power, healthcare, education and civic amenities.

The public representatives and residents of Ramgarh demanded installation of solar street lights, strengthening of healthcare facilities at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), construction of a volleyball court, installation of CCTV cameras, opening of a library, provision of community banking facilities and introduction of an e-bus transport service.

The residents also demanded regular drinking water supply, rationalisation of power supply and early completion of projects being executed by the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the Public Works Department (PWD).

The Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to the grievances and demands raised by the public and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for the prompt redressal of the same. He directed the PMGSY authorities to put in extra efforts for proper maintenance and renovation of roads and install night reflectors at vulnerable and accident-prone locations to enhance road safety.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of ongoing development works being executed by the PWD and PMGSY. He instructed the concerned officers to obtain all requisite approvals and expedite the execution of pending works. Emphasising the need for timely completion, he directed the executing agencies to ensure that the roads are made motorable at the earliest for the convenience of the public.

He further directed the officials of the Medical Department to ensure the availability of basic facilities at the Primary Health Centre to strengthen healthcare services and improve access to medical care for residents of the area.

Emphasising responsive governance and efficient public service delivery, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the timely resolution of public grievances and effective implementation of developmental programmes at the grassroots level.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Executive Engineers of PMGSY, PWD and JPDCL, besides other district and sectoral officers, were present on the occasion.
