SHOPIAN, JULY 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Shishir Gupta, conducted a thorough and comprehensive inspection of Zainapora subdivision, reviewing land record maintenance and overseeing various development projects.
DC began the tour by visiting the Tehsil office, Zainapora, where he scrutinized land records, including Roz Namcha, Girdawari, Jamabandi, Mutation Register, and Partal, to assess their accuracy and upkeep. Emphasizing the importance of accurate and timely record-keeping, he directed officials to ensure regular updates and maintenance of these critical documents.
He then inspected ongoing macadamization works under the Public Works Department (PWD) Division Zainapora, assessing their progress and quality. He also reviewed the recently completed Water Supply scheme at Reban under the Jal Jeevan Mission, evaluating its functionality and impact.
Additionally, DC visited the Zainapora canal and nursery managed by the Horticulture department, inspecting their condition and management.
He stressed the need for quality assurance in development projects, advocating for social auditing to ensure compliance with norms and standards.
He also reviewed the water supply-demand network, emphasizing the importance of water budgeting to optimize resource utilization.
Instructions were issued for the repairs and maintenance of the Zainapora canal through proper desiltation, ensuring its efficient functioning.
