DC Shopian finalizes preparations for ‘Sewa Parv’ campaign

SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 15: To review and finalize arrangements for the celebration of ‘Sewa Parv’ in the district scheduled from September, 17 to October, 2, 2025, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today chaired a meeting of officers here in Mini Secretariat Shopian.

The fortnight-long programme is aimed at promoting the spirit of service, volunteerism and community participation across the district. It will focus on activities that strengthen the bond between the administration and the people while fostering awareness about cleanliness, health, education, support to elderly, social welfare and sustainable development initiatives.

DC stressed inter-departmental coordination and proactive community participation for effective execution of scheduled activities during the fortnight. Departments were instructed to focus on on-spot service delivery.

During the campaign, swachhata drives, health awareness and Ayush camps for preventive healthcare, educational awareness campaigns on drug de-addiction and career guidance, plantation and environmental protection activities, awareness and registration sessions on government schemes related to agriculture, self-employment, NRLM, social security and welfare schemes shall be undertaken to improve performance of service delivery.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; Principal, GDC Shopian, ACD, various district officers, BDOs and civil society members.
