UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 22: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of the District Steering Committee to review the planning, implementation and monitoring of the National Mission for a Green India in the District.
The meeting was attended by PO Poshan Subash Dogra; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh and other senior officers.
At the outset, the DFOs made detailed PowerPoint presentations on the objectives of the Green India Mission and the landscapes allotted to their respective Forest Divisions.
Detailed deliberations were held on various components of the Green India Mission, including restoration of degraded open forest ecosystems, plantation along National and State Highways and railway tracks, Agro forestry and social forestry.
The Committee also discussed the approval/recommendation of the Green India Mission Micro Plans for 2026–27 and 2027–28 for Udhampur.
The DC emphasized the need for coordinated implementation of the Mission across Udhampur, Ramnagar and Jammu Forest Division falling within District Udhampur.
The DC stressed upon the concerned departments and Forest Divisions to maintain close coordination and ensure effective implementation of the approved plans for achieving the objectives of the Green India Mission and promoting ecological sustainability in the district.
