SHOPIAN, JUNE 08: The Drug Control Department (DCD) Shopian today conducted a special drive to take stock of the compliance of installation of CCTV and computerized billing systems (CBS) in medical shops in Shopian town and various rural areas viz. Babapora, Reshipora, Chitragam, Sugan, Heff, Shirmal and surrounding areas.
The team inspected various pharmacies for adherence to regulations and operations of four medical shops were closed down for violating the conditions of licenses.
All inspected pharmacies were found to have installed CCTV cameras. Additionally, 10 drug samples were collected for further testing and analysis. CCTV footage of the pharmacies was also reviewed.
The Drug Control Department Shopian emphasized that such drives will continue within the district until satisfactory results are achieved.
