DODA, MAY 17: To bolster the welfare of tribal communities in the district, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh convened a crucial meeting today to discuss the implementation and progress achieved under various tribal schemes in the region.
The meeting was attended by the PO ICDS, Doda, Sheep Husbandry Officer, Doda, AD Planning, officials from the Chief Education Officer, Doda, revenue department officials and a deputation of the Tribal Community.
During the meeting, the DDC emphasized the importance of effective execution of tribal welfare schemes aimed at improving education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities for the tribal population. He urged all departments to work collaboratively to ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries without delay and encouraged participants to share their insights and challenges to identify areas for improvement.
The members of the Tribal Community expressed gratitude for the government’s focus on tribal development and shared their perspectives on additional support needed to enhance the quality of life in their communities.
They also highlighted several important issues, including the proper implementation of the Forest Rights Act, 2005, to benefit the deserving section of the community, establishment of Primary Health Care Centres, Anganwadi Centres, provision of ambulances for medical emergencies and other amenities in their panchayats.
The DDC assured them that their concerns would be taken into consideration and that efforts would be made to address any gaps in service delivery.
