SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 13: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today gave approval for the establishment of the Library at District Level, in order to facilitate students with much needed space, logistics and study materials, preparing for various competitive examinations.
The DDC allotted 13.33 lacs for the establishment of the library under District Mineral Fund (DMF).
The Library shall be housed in Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Shopian which will have two reading rooms for students and researchers.
The Library shall be laced with requisite infrastructure for seating and all modern educational tools including desktops, internet connections and a diverse range of study materials for students, free of cost.
The district administration is also planning to set up a similar library at Zainapora subdivision also in the immediate future.
