KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today visited Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel and Modern Slaughter House at Kulgam, in order to take a first-hand assessment of the facilities, infrastructure and overall functioning of the two important public facilities.
During the visit to the Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel, the DDC inspected various facilities being provided to the inmates and interacted with the concerned staff to assess the day-to-day functioning of the hostel. He took stock of accommodation, sanitation, hygiene, drinking water, electricity, and other essential amenities.
The DDC emphasized the need to maintain a clean, safe and conducive environment for the inmates and directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all basic facilities are provided efficiently and stressed regular upkeep and maintenance of the hostel infrastructure.
The DDC also visited Modern Slaughter House at Kulgam, where he inspected the available infrastructure, operational arrangements, cleanliness and sanitation facilities.He reviewed the overall functioning of the facility and emphasized strict adherence to prescribed hygiene, sanitation and food-safety standards.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure proper cleanliness, scientific disposal and handling of waste, and regular maintenance of the facility in accordance with applicable norms. He stressed that the slaughter house must function efficiently while ensuring public health, environmental safety and hygienic practices.
The DDC called upon the concerned departments to undertake regular inspections and ensure that all public facilities under their jurisdiction remain functional, properly maintained and responsive to the requirements of the people.
The DDC was accompanied by Exen R&B, Fayaz Ahmad Kar; Tehsildar Kulgam, Nisar Ahmad Wani; CEO, Fayaz Ahmad Mir; EO Municipal Council Kulgam, Mohammad Irfan, and other officers and official.
