DODA, JANUARY 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh on Tuesday chaired a crucial review meeting in the mini conference hall, DC Office Complex, to assess the progress of projects funded under the Central Road Fund (CRF) and NABARD schemes.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Superintending Engineers of PWD (R&B) Chenab Circle and Hydraulic Circle, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Divisional Forest Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Block Medical Officer. Officials stationed in Bhaderwah and Batote joined virtually to provide updates on their respective projects.

The DDC emphasized the importance of expediting ongoing projects to enhance the district’s infrastructure and socio-economic development.

The Superintending Engineers presented detailed updates on status of the projects, challenges, and proposed solutions.

Issues related to land acquisition, technical approvals and inter-departmental coordination were extensively discussed, with the DDC directing officers to address these bottlenecks promptly.

Special focus was placed on resolving delays, particularly those involving land disputes, forest clearance, and road construction issues, for which coordination with Tehsildars was mandated. The DDC also instructed the termination, blacklisting, and re-tendering of significantly delayed projects within a week.

The review also covered the progress of community-centric projects, such as improving road connectivity, irrigation facilities, and healthcare infrastructure. The construction of PHCs and road connectivity to these centers was highlighted, with officers directed to prioritize their timely completion. Forest clearance and land acquisition issues were taken up, and the DDC assured full administrative support to resolve such challenges.

Concluding the meeting, the DDC stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards, transparency in fund utilization, and accountability among departments. He directed officials to submit comprehensive progress reports for effective monitoring and assured that the administration would extend all necessary support to ensure impactful results.
