DODA, MAY 14: District Development Commissioner, Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to assess the pre-construction activities on National Highway 244 (NH-244) in the region.
The meeting was attended by ACR, Dy SP Headquarters, SDM Assar, SDM, GM NHIDCL, Tehsildars, and other concerned officials of NHIDCL.
The discussions focused on the necessary steps to be taken for the smooth and efficient pre-construction of NH-244.
The DDC emphasized the importance of timely and quality construction work to ensure the development of the highway for the benefit of local residents and commuters.
A range of preliminary requirements related to land acquisition, environmental clearances and other administrative procedures were discussed to expedite the pre-construction process.
The officials also deliberated on the allocation of resources and coordination among different agencies involved in the project.
The DDC directed the officials to start a campaign of afforestation in their jurisdiction, especially on landslide-prone areas. He asked the GM NHIDCL to identify other landslide prone locations on the highway and intimate the concerned departments.
The DDC stressed on regular monitoring and supervision to oversee the progress and meeting any challenges that may arise during the execution phase. He urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination and adhere to the timelines to ensure the successful execution of the pre-construction activities.
