SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 29: On the eve of World Stroke Day, the Department of Neurology, Government Superspeciality Hospital, Shireenbagh, Srinagar, organized a large-scale Stroke Awareness Walkathon at the picturesque River Front, Rajbagh, aimed at educating the public about stroke prevention and timely management.
The event drew enthusiastic participation of people from various walks of life, including Senior Citizens, students, and doctors from different hospitals across the Valley.
The Walkathon was flagged off by the Principal & Dean, Government Medical College Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Shah, accompanied by Head, Department of Neurology, and Medical Superintendent, Government Superspeciality Hospital, Shireenbagh.
Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized the importance of preventive measures in reducing the rising burden of stroke in society. They highlighted that whenever people notice warning signs of stroke, they should immediately seek urgent medical help.
The event successfully blended scientific awareness with social participation, reaffirming the department’s commitment to promote neurological health and stroke prevention in Kashmir.
