DES J&K organizes workshop on “Farm Harvest, Producers Price of Agriculture & allied commodities”

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 29: Directorate of Economics & Statistics, J&K organized a One Day Workshop on “Farm Harvest/ Producers Price of Agriculture and Allied commodities” here in the Conference Hall, School of Applied Economics & Statistics, Jammu.

The event was held under the patronage of Director General, Economics & Statistics, J&K, Satvir Kour Sudan

Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Joint Director Surveys welcomed and encouraged the participants to take full benefit of the workshop so that the quality price data could be obtained for its usage in the preparation of State and District Domestic Product estimates. The workshop was devoted to the discussions on concepts, definitions, methodology for collection of Farm Harvest/ Producers Price of Agriculture and Allied commodities.

Sanjay Vashisht, Director, School of Applied Economics & Statistics, in his address, emphasized on the importance of the workshop and expressed his trust that the field functionaries will collect reliable coherent and quality data.

The training was imparted to the participants by Deputy Director, SIU Inam-Ul-Haq,                                           Assistant Director,Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and Statistical Officer, Imran Hussain of DES, J&K.

The workshop was attended by District Statistics & Evaluation Officers of Jammu division along with their field staff and Domain expert of line Department namely Mahesh Verma, Joint Director, Agriculture Department, Jammu, Divya Mahajan, Deputy Director (Plg), Directorate of Horticulture Jammu, Shruti Gupta, Deputy Director (Plg), Financial Commissioner, Revenue J&K, Sanjeev Khajuria, Assistant, Marketing Agriculture besides Officers/officials of DES.

Vote of thanks was presented by Joint Director, Surveys, Directorate of Economics & Statistics, J&K.
