Anantnag, Jan 03 : The Minister for Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Sakina Itoo on Friday directed the officials to detach attached doctors immediately.

Speaking to reporters after taking a review meeting in Anantnag, Sakina Itoo as per news agency said that health is a vital sector and patient care can’t be compromised at any cost.

She said that officials were directed to detach all doctors, who have been attached so that the patients, who have been suffering for the want of treatment, can get better treatment.

The Minister further said that any doctor found involved in private practice during duty hours will face stern action.  She said the government has made efforts to shift   Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag but some people are hindering the process and they will be responsible if any untoward incident takes place at the hospital as the hospital is functioning from an unsafe building.

Asked about a new building for maternity and child care in Anantnag, Itoo said that a new hospital is a long process and if any untoward incident takes place then who will be held responsible.

She said that the government has been looking for alternatives in this regard so that the hospital can be shifted as soon as possible.

Asked about enhancement of stipends of internees, Sakina said that as of now they are getting Rs 12000 per month and immediate enhancement isn’t possible but it is under active consideration of the government and will be done very soon
