“DG Prison murder”: No terror angle emerged during investigation, say police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday said that no terror angle has emerged during investigation o the case of murder of J&K Director General of Police (Prisons) Hemant Kumar Lohia .

The police said that Interrogation of the accused is in progress and his disclosures are being corroborated with field investigation.Notably, Lohia’s dead body was found under suspicious circumstances on Monday evening. The IPS officer was found with stab and burn injuries.

Earlier, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday termed the claims of responsibility of militant organisations behind his murder case cooked up and baseless.

He described it as an “extremely unfortunate” incident and said that the accused as per history is an aggressive, unstable person.(KNS)
