UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 13: To promote the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram, the District Administration Udhampur today organized a mega Tiranga rally in the district.
Deputy Inspector of General Police Shiv Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa and Senior Superintendent of Police Amritpal Singh jointly flagged off the rally from Dak Bungalow.
Officers and officials of the civil and police administration, members from civil society and hundreds of students and staff from the educational institutions participated enthusiastically in the rally, carrying the 1650 metre long National flag and raising patriotic slogans. The rally passed through the National Highway and culminated at Omara Morh.
Addressing the participants, the DIG highlighted the importance of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign in fostering patriotism, national unity and respect for the National Flag. He urged the participants to actively participate in the campaign and encouraged the people of the district to proudly hoist the National Flag at their homes.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that a series of activities, including rallies, debates, quizzes and painting competitions are being organized in schools, colleges and other institutions as part of the campaign and the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh, PO Poshan Subash Dogra, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Umesh Shan were also present.
