RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12: The Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, District Rajouri, organised Inter-Panchayat Block Level Cricket Trials for boys in the Under-17 and Under-19 age categories under the Youth Engagement Programme 2026.
The trials witnessed participation from young cricketers drawn from different Panchayats across the district. The aspiring players displayed talent, discipline and sportsmanship during the selection process. After a series of competitive trials, block-level teams were selected to represent their respective blocks in the upcoming Inter-Block District Level Cricket tournament.
The programme aims to provide a structured platform for the youth to channelise their energy into sports, promote healthy competition and identify promising talent at the grassroots level. Through such initiatives, the department is working towards nurturing a strong sporting culture and encouraging constructive engagement among the youth.
Officials of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports expressed confidence that the selected players will perform to the best of their abilities and bring laurels to their respective blocks.
They further added that the Youth Engagement Programme will continue to play a vital role in empowering young athletes and inspiring more youth to participate in sports and physical activities.
