BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 12: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Bandipora today conducted a series of IEC awareness programmes across the district.
The events were held across various Urban Local Body (ULB) areas of the district, including Wangipora Payeen (Sumbal), Ward No. 2 Plan (Bandipora), and 4-Naid/Kacher Mohalla (Hajin), to sensitize the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society.
The programmes were coordinated by the designated IEC nodal officers at respective locations, with active participation from officials of Health, Police, Education, Social Welfare, Youth Services & Sports, and JKRLM departments. The multi-departmental approach aimed at strengthening community outreach and ensuring effective awareness at the grassroots level.
During the sessions, resource persons including doctors, police officials, teachers, and social welfare representatives delivered informative talks highlighting the physical, psychological, and social consequences of substance abuse. They emphasized preventive awareness, early intervention, and collective community responsibility in addressing the growing menace of drugs.
Participants from local communities actively engaged in interactive discussions, raising awareness about the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles and staying away from harmful substances.
