KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 26: The day 10 of Sewa Parv 2025 unfolded as a vibrant celebration of community service, environmental awareness and citizen empowerment, here today under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma.
A notable highlight of the day was a donation drive organized at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Boys.
The staff members and students collected books, stationery items, toys, clothes, and other essential materials for the needy students, reflecting the true spirit of service and making the event purposeful in line with the ethos of Seva.
The Kishtwar Forest Division organized an awareness program on reducing single-use plastic, along with a tree plantation drive at Government Higher Secondary School Badhat engaging the youth and citizens in sustainable practices.
The Health Department conducted a series of health camps and awareness sessions under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, emphasizing menstrual hygiene, women’s health, and overall family well-being.
The ICDS department also organised an intensive door-to-door campaign to raise awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and Ladli Beti schemes ensuring that benefits reach every eligible household.
The Municipal Council Kishtwar, in collaboration with students from J.N. Shastri Memorial School, Urban Local Body (ULB) staff and Swachhata Executives, conducted a major cleanliness drive and beautification of the Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU) through plantation and community engagement.
A separate cleanliness drive was also executed in Ward No. 6 (Commercial Area), where citizens were encouraged to adopt hygienic practices and sensitized about the benefits of the Swachhta App for active civic participation.
Similarly, a series of outreach and awareness programs were held across all subdivisions, tehsils, and blocks by Health, Rural Development, ICDS, Forest, Education and Social Welfare departments, strengthening the collective resolve towards inclusive development and social equity.
These impactful activities on Day 10 of Sewa Parv 2025 exemplify the district’s dedication to building a cleaner, healthier, and more empowered society, with active participation from government bodies, educational institutions and the community at large.
