KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 18: The District Administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, today observed the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with a mega district-level event held in the Conference Hall of the New DC Office Complex.

Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma presided over the function as the Chief Guest.
At the outset, District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Parveaz Qazi, extended a warm welcome to the guests and participants.

The programme featured a vibrant lineup of awareness-oriented activities, including Debate and Painting Competitions with enthusiastic participation from students of different schools.

A graceful solo dance performance by Tavishi Anand and a powerful theme based Nukkad Natak presented by the talented team of Kishtwar Act Production were highlights of the event.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in guiding the district toward a healthier, drug-free future. He emphasized that the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is not merely a government programme but a people’s movement, requiring sustained vigilance, compassion and coordinated action from every segment of society.

Highlighting the crucial role of parents, educators, community leaders and youth, he called upon them to remain proactive in identifying early signs of substance abuse and promoting constructive avenues for personal development.

The Deputy Commissioner also administered the “Nasha Mukt” pledge to all attendees. Simultaneously, an e-pledge campaign was conducted across the district, facilitated through scanner-based wall posters installed at all Sub-Divisional and Tehsil offices by the Social Welfare Department.

Further extending the outreach, the School Education Department conducted parallel awareness activities in educational institutions across the district. The event was attended by ADC Pawan Kotwal; ACP Neeraj Sharma; DTO Showket Ibrahim; AD Handloom Pardeep Shan and others.
