SAMBA, OCTOBER 30: The Diwali Mela cum Exhibition, organized by the District Administration Samba in collaboration with the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom, concluded successfully today at the iconic Samba Fort. This vibrant event attracted a large crowd, offering a unique cultural experience that celebrated the rich heritage and creativity of the region.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Rajesh Sharma, toured the exhibition, examining each stall put up by various line departments, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Cooperative Department, and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), alongside displays by the Handloom and Handicrafts departments. Each stall showcased a wide range of services, products, and initiatives aimed at enhancing rural livelihoods, supporting local artisans, and promoting sustainable agriculture.
The mela featured live demonstrations of traditional crafts like pottery, handcrafted products, and local art, alongside an open mic session and local cuisine, which were enthusiastically received by visitors. The event provided an invaluable platform for local artisans and farmers to interact directly with the public, fostering awareness and appreciation for their work.
