DLC approves diversion of Forest Land for six road projects in Rajouri

RAJOURI, MARCH 04 Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting of District Level Committee (DLC) regarding the diversion of forest land under Section 3(2) of the Forest Rights Act for the construction of road and bridge projects.

The committee deliberated on the diversion of forest land for the construction of six road projects across different blocks under the Rural Development Department (RDD) and the Public Works Department (PWD R&B).

The approved projects included Soom to Kothian Road (Block Kalakote), Bareti to Ambligurah Road (Block Kalakote), Main Road to Kalyoon Abdul Mohalla Road (Block Mougla), Nilla Danda to Langar Road (Block Mougla), Argi Bridge to Patti Galla via Sagote Road (Block Mougla) and Tuni Ke Bani to Jandi Matar Road (Block Rajouri)

After detailed discussions, all six cases were approved by the DLC, marking a significant step towards improving rural connectivity in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of these road projects in facilitating better transportation and boosting economic activities in remote areas.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kalakote, Mohd Tanveer; DFO Rajouri; DFO Nowshera, Shewata Deona; CPO, Maqsood Ahmed; ACD, Vijay Kumar; DSWO, Abdul Raheem; EXEN PWD (R&B) Kalakote, Aftab Khan; EXEN REW, Zahir Khan, and other concerned members of the DLC.

Additionally, DDC Member Rajouri, Sai Abdul Rashid; DDC Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayoom Mir and DDC Member Kalakote, Anita Thakur, were also present.
