KISHTWAR, MAY 15: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kishtwar today organized an awareness programme under the guidance of Chairman Sudhir Kumar Khajuria, and the supervision of Secretary Slahuddin Ahmed, here at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI). The focus of the programme was on the Rights of Disaster Victims.

The initiative aimed to educate students and the general public about legal entitlements, support mechanisms and the role of legal aid during disasters.

The event was graced by the presence of Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel Naveed Khurshid, along with the staff of ITI and Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) associated with the DLSA.

The programme was led by Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsels Sanveer Singh, Vinay Shan and Sandeep Kumar, who sensitized participants on the legal frameworks and welfare measures available to disaster victims under various laws and government schemes.

The speakers emphasized the importance of timely legal assistance for disaster-affected individuals and families.
They elaborated on how DLSA and the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System play a pivotal role in ensuring justice and support for vulnerable sections of society during emergencies.

The programme concluded with an interactive session, where participants raised queries and received guidance on available legal remedies and support structures.
