DLSA Reasi reviews preparations for National Lok Adalat, conducts awareness programmes

REASI, FEBRUARY 12: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Reasi organised a meeting at District Court Complex Reasi on 12 February 2026 to review preparations for the National Lok Adalat scheduled on 14 March 2026. The meeting was chaired by Khalil Choudhary, Chairman DLSA Reasi and Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi, under the guidance of Pooja Gupta, Secretary DLSA Reasi.

The meeting was attended by ACR Reasi, ACD Reasi, Assistant Labour Commissioner Reasi, Tehsildar Reasi, ARTO Reasi, Assistant Food and Supply Officer Reasi, District Social Welfare Officer Reasi, DFO Reasi, Assistant Director Fisheries Reasi, Secretary Zila Sainik Welfare Board Reasi, Sanitation Officer Municipal Council Reasi and other officers.

Discussions were held regarding identification of suitable pre-litigation and pending cases for settlement during the National Lok Adalat. Government departments were urged to refer appropriate matters to facilitate expeditious and cost-effective resolution of disputes through mutual consent.

Meanwhile, Para Legal Volunteers of TLSC Katra organised an awareness programme on “Mediation for Nation 2.0” at Panchayat Akhli Katra to educate the public about mediation as an effective alternative dispute resolution mechanism.

Para Legal Volunteers of TLSC Mahore conducted an awareness programme on “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat” at Mahore and Bhamla, Reasi, highlighting the ill effects of child marriage and provisions of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. Participants were sensitised about ensuring education, health and a secure future for children, especially girls.

A slogan writing competition on dowry prohibition was organised by PLVs of TLSC Katra at LLC Katra to create awareness about the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Panel Lawyers and PLVs of DLSA Reasi also organised an awareness programme on observance of traffic rules at Reasi. Participants were informed about the use of helmets and seat belts, risks of over-speeding and drunken driving and the importance of carrying valid driving documents.
