DLSA Srinagar organized Special Lok Adalat for Bank Cases; 59 cases settled

SRINAGAR NOVEMBER 14: –District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, organized a Special Lok Adalat for Bank cases at the District Court Complex, Mominabad, Srinagar. The LokAdalat, aimed at amicably resolving Bank cases, which was held under the able direction of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority ( Principal District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar, and under the supervision of Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-judge/ Secretary DLSA Srinagar..

To facilitate the amicable settlement of cases, one bench was constituted for the said Special Lok Adalat, which was presided over by Ms. KusoomLataPandita (Additional District & Sessions Judge, Bank Cases), Srinagar and Sehar Nazir (Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel, DLSA) Srinagar, as Bench Member.

The bench settled maximum number of cases, marking a significant achievement in promoting peaceful and quick resolutions for Bank matters. This initiative not only provided justice to the parties involved but also highlighted the advantages of settling disputes through Lok Adalats.

The Lok Adalat witnessed the active participation from the legal fraternity, Officers & Officials of Banks and litigants alike.

By organizing Lok Adalats, DLSA Srinagar continues its mission to provide equitable access to justice for all, ensuring that litigants can resolve their disputes quickly and amicably without the prolonged procedures typically associated with conventional courts.

Overall 123 number of cases was taken up for settlement out of which 59 number of cases were amicably settled &Rs. 20367450/-was awarded as settlement amount in Bank Cases.
